ANALISIS FILOLOGIS HIKAYAT MARYAM DALAM PERSPEKTIF ALIH AKSARA DAN ALIH BAHASA

Abstract

This study is motivated by the importance of philological studies in uncovering and preserving classical Nusantara manuscripts that contain historical, cultural, and religious values. The object of this research is the manuscript of Hikayat Maryam, which tells the story of Maryam and Prophet Isa in the Islamic tradition and is written in Jawi script and Classical Malay. This study aims to describe the physical condition of the manuscript, to transliterate the text from Jawi script into Latin script, and to translate it into Indonesian. The method used is a descriptive method within a philological approach, including stages of data inventory and processing, namely manuscript description, transliteration, and translation. The results show that the Hikayat Maryam manuscript is in relatively good physical condition with legible writing, and it can be systematically transliterated and translated. In addition, the manuscript contains religious, moral, and social values relevant to education and cultural preservation. This study highlights the important role of philology in maintaining ancient manuscripts so that they remain accessible and understandable to contemporary society.
