REDUPLIKASI BERIMBUHAN DALAM NOVEL INDONESIA MODERN TAHUN 1970-AN

Abstract

Research on affixation and reduplication has been extensively conducted by previous researchers, but few studies have specifically addressed affixed reduplication. Previous studies tended to discuss the two phenomena separately, with some focusing on affixation alone and others focusing solely on reduplication. This study aims to describe the types, formation processes, and meanings of affixed reduplication in modern Indonesian novels of the 1970s. This research is a qualitative study using descriptive methods. The data collection technique used in this study is documentation. The data analysis technique used in this study is a data analysis technique commonly used in corpus linguistics approaches, namely computational linguistic analysis techniques. Based on the research conducted, 372 prefix data were obtained that experienced reduplication, 153 suffix data that experienced reduplication, 96 confix data that experienced reduplication, and 13 affix combination data that experienced reduplication. This study did not find any type of affix or affix in the form of an infix. In addition, several processes of forming affixed reduplication were also found, namely affixation that occurs before reduplication, reduplication that occurs before the addition of affixes, and the affixation and reduplication processes that occur simultaneously. Furthermore, the results of the study indicate that the most dominant meanings of affixed reduplication are those that express actions that are carried out repeatedly (frequently) and those that express plural or many meanings.
