This study aims to describe the forms of violence, factors causing violence, and impacts of violence in the novel "Rain and Shade" by Wulan Dewatra. The research is qualitative and uses a descriptive method. The data source for this research is the novel "Rain and Shade" by Wulan Dewatra. The steps of data collection involve reading and understanding the novel, conducting literature studies, identifying the main and secondary characters, and finding and recording events related to violence in the novel. The data validation technique used is triangulation. The study reveals that the novel "Rain and Shade" by Wulan Dewatra portrays three forms of violence: physical violence (e.g., being slapped, grabbed, and dragged violently), psychological violence (e.g., being yelled at, threatened, insulted), and sexual violence (e.g., forced kissing, forced intercourse). The factors causing violence in the novel include cultural factors, lifestyle and promiscuity factors, and factors related to low community control. The impacts of violence found in the novel include physical impacts (e.g., injuries, bruises, pregnancy outside of marriage), psychological impacts (e.g., trauma, depression, mental disorders), social impacts (e.g., difficulty socializing, low self-esteem), and sexual impacts (e.g., permanent disability due to abortion).
