Abstract

This research aims to describe: (1) forms of social problems; (2) factors causing social problems; and (3) the impact of social problems in the short story collection Cerita Dari Blora Karya Pramoedya Ananta Toer. This type of research is a literary research with descriptive method. The data source of this research is the short stories in the short story collection Cerita Dari Blora Karya Pramoedya Ananta Toer. The data of this research are clauses and sentences derived from direct and indirect speech of the characters, as well as narratives that describe social problems in the collection of short stories Cerita Dari Blora Karya Pramoedya Ananta Toer. The instrument of this research is the researcher himself (human instrument). The research employs data collection techniques such as: (1) literature study; (2) reading and understanding data sources; (3) inventorying data; and (4) classifying data. The data validation technique in this research uses triangulation technique. The data analysis techniques used in this research are: (1) data collection; (2) data reduction; (3) data display; and (4) conclusion drawing/ verification. In the research findings, 71 data were found regarding social problems in the short story collection Cerita Dari Blora Karya Pramoedya Ananta Toer, including: (1) forms of social problems in the form of poverty, criminality or crime, disorganization out of the society.
