Tindak Tutur Ekspresif dalam Debat Calon Presiden Pilpres 2024

The speech of presidential candidates can influence people's perception in determining their choice. This study aims to describe the types and functions of expressive speech acts in the presidential candidate debate of the 2024 presidential election. This type of research is qualitative research with a descriptive method. The data used in the research are the utterances of the presidential candidates in the 2024 presidential election presidential candidate debate which fall into the category of expressive speech acts. The data source comes from the audio visual recording of the 2024 presidential election presidential candidate debate on the Youtube channel of KPU RI. The data collection technique applied is the KORTARA corpus linguistic technique. The data analysis of this research goes through several stages, namely the identification stage, classification stage, and analysis stage. The research findings are as follows. First, expressive speech acts are found in the presidential candidates' debate of the 2024 presidential election as many as 220 speech data, including saying thank you 125 speeches, congratulating 6 speeches, apologizing 16 speeches, praising 7 speeches, criticizing 44 speeches, blaming 8 speeches, insinuating 9 speeches, accusing 2 speeches, and expressing anger 3 speeches. Second, the functions of expressive speech acts found are competitive function 64 utterances, convivial function 154 utterances, and conflictive function 2 utterances.
