Peer Review Process
Persona will initially have the Managing Editor to screen the submitted manuscripts. Then, the papers will be distributed to the editorial boards based on their field of expertise.
Desk Review. The papers will undergo desk review where those will be read and screened by the editorial board members to ensure that they have met the writing guideline, focus, and scope with excellent academic quality. If they do not meet the conditions, the author will be given the opportunity to revise their manuscript according to the given criteria. However, there is also the possibility that the manuscript will be directly rejected.
Peer Review. Persona operates a double-blind reviewing policy in which the reviewer's name is always concealed from the submitting author and vice versa. The manuscripts will be sent to a peer-reviewer based on their field of expertise. Persona provides a review form for the reviewer to give their assesments which includes originality, clarity, contribution to the field and scope, as well as language and stucture. Then editorial board will make a decision upon the reviewer comments or advice. The decisions include:
1.Accepted, as it can be published directly
2.Accepted with Minor Revisions (let author revised with a specified time limit)
3.Accepted with Major Revisions (let author revised with a specified time limit)
4.Rejected, as it can be re-evaluted after revision (generally, the manuscript is out of the scope of Persona, major technical problems, clarity of contents and presentation)
To check the plagiarism, Persona will do the screening by using Turnitin. The limit of percentage of a manuscript must be 20%. If it is found plagiarism indication, the editorial board may reject the manuscripts immediately (but the writer may resubmit it after revision) or set a limited time for author(s) to revise the manuscript.
Normal turn-around time for evaluation of manuscripts is 2 weeks.
The article review process usually takes average 4 weeks. This review period depends on the editors and reviewers duration in reviewing the manuscript.
