Struktur, Unsur Intrinsik, dan Fungsi Sosial Cerita Rakyat Dongeng Fabel Klasik Minangkabau di Nagari Tebing Tinggi Kecamatan Ranah Ampek Hulu Tapan Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan

Abstract

This study aims to describe: (1) the structure of the Minangkabau classic fable folklore, (2) the intrinsic elements of the classic fable folklore, and (3) the social function of the classic fable folklore. The results of the study are in the form of documentation of the classic Minangkabau fable as an effort to preserve the cultural wealth of Indonesia, especially Minangkabau. The type of research used in this study is qualitative research with a descriptive method. The data for this study are related to the structure, intrinsic elements, and social function of the classic fable folklore in Nagari Tebing Tinggi, Ranah Ampek Hulu Tapan District, Pesisir Selatan Regency. Data collection was carried out in two stages, namely, (1) the stage of recording, and (2) the stage of collecting data on the storytelling environment. The data analysis techniques in this study are, (1) the data identification stage, (2) the classification stage, (3) the discussion and storage stage of the results of the classification or data analysis, and (4) the reporting stage. The results of the study can be concluded that the structure of the classic Minangkabau fable folktale consists of: (1) orientation, (2) complication, (3) resolution, and (4) coda. The intrinsic elements of the classic fable folktale are: (1) style of language, (2) characters and characterization, (3) plot, (4) setting, (5) theme, and (6) moral. The social functions of the classic Minangkabau fable folktale are: (1) entertaining, (2) educating, (3) inheriting, and (4) identity.
