Citra Perempuan dalam Kaba Sabai Nan Aluih Karangan Tulis Sutan Sati

Abstract

Kaba Sabai Nan Aluih tells the story of Sabai Nan Aluih's heroic actions in avenging his father's death on his enemies. The author is interested in studying the image of women in the Kaba Sabai Nan Aluih written by Sutan Sati because the superiority of the Kaba lies in the depiction of women who are gentle but fierce and are depicted in a real and clear manner. This research aims to describe women's physical image, psychological image, image in the family, and image in society. This research is literary research using descriptive methods. The data in this research are in the form of content and literary characteristics as the subject of study from the text Kaba Sabai Nan Aluih written by Tulis Sutan Sati. The data collection technique used in this research is reading Kaba Sabai Nan Aluih by Tulis Sutan Sati and inventorying the data into a data inventory format. The data analysis technique used in this research is analyzing data by classifying women's self-image and women's social image in Kaba Sabai Nan Aluih written by Sutan Sati draws conclusions and writes in the form of a thesis. The results of this research are (I) Women's self-image consists of; (a) physical image of having a beautiful face, olive skin and an ideal body; (b) the psychological image has characteristics that are polite, compassionate, responsible and brave. (II) The social image of women consists of; (a) Image in the family, including as a child and older brother (b) Image in society, including not bringing innocent people into their personal problems. It can be concluded that the most dominant image is the psychic image.
