Penggunaan Gaya Bahasa Sindiran dan Fungsi Pragmatiknya dalam Tindak Tutur Ekspresif pada Acara Humor Stand Up Comedy dalam Kanal YouTube

Abstract

Stand-up comedy content in digital media not only functions as entertainment, but also as a medium for social criticism through satirical language style. Therefore, this study aims to: (a) describe the types of sarcasm language style in the speech act of criticizing in stand up comedy humor and (b) describe the pragmatic function of the types of sarcasm language style in the speech act of criticizing in stand up comedy humor. This research is a qualitative research with descriptive method. The data used are utterances containing innuendos in speech acts of criticizing sourced from stand up comedy videos of comics Raditya Dika, Pandji Pragiwaksono, and Ernest Prakasa. The data collection technique used is the free listening technique. The analysis was carried out with the following steps: (1) listening and transcribing the data into written form, (2) inventorying the data in the form of utterances into the data recording format, (3) validating the data, (4) identifying the utterance data containing innuendo in the speech act of criticizing contained in stand up comedy, (4) classify the sarcasm language style based on the type and pragmatic function of the sarcasm into the table that has been made, (5) analyze the data based on the type of sarcasm and its pragmatic function found in stand up comedy, and (6) discuss, draw conclusions, and report the research results. The research findings are as follows. First, the use of sarcasm in criticizing speech acts in stand-up comedy humor shows is found in four types, namely irony, cynicism, sarcasm, and satire. Sarcasm is 36 utterances, irony is 10 utterances, cynicism is 9 utterances, and satire is 2 utterances. Second, pragmatic functions are found in four types, namely competitive, convivial, collaborative and conflictive functions. Based on the research findings, it can be concluded that the use of sarcasm language style and its pragmatic function in the expressive speech act of criticizing on stand up comedy humor show in YouTube channel is full of sarcasm with conflictive function.
