Potret Hegemoni Penguasa dalam Novel Teruslah Bodoh Jangan Pintar karya Tere Liye

Abstract

This research is motivated by the socio-political reality in Indonesia, where there is often an imbalance between the interests of the common people and the interests of capital owners who have access to power, as reflected in literary works. The novel entitled Teruslah Bodoh Jangan Pintar Tere Liye's work shows how the power system works through hegemony to maintain the status quo. The purpose of this study is to see the forms of hegemony of the rulers depicted in the novel entitled Teruslah Bodoh Jangan Pintar Tere Liye's work. This research is a literary research with a descriptive qualitative approach. The data source for this research is a text in the form of a novel entitled Teruslah Bodoh Jangan Pintar Tere Liye's work published by PT Sabak Grip Nusantara in 2024, West Java. The results of the study show that there are five forms of hegemony, namely the hegemony of the ruling class, the hegemony of ideology, the hegemony of culture, the hegemony of the role of intellectuals, and the hegemony of the role of the state.
